Terres Neuves designs and organises intercultural training for numerous countries (see map) for your expatriates, impatriates and their family. We strongly recommend that the expatriate’s spouse and teenage children take part in the preparation for expatriation/impatriation training, because they are crucial to successful integration in the host country.
We propose four modules in our preparation for expatriation training programmes: To help companies in their internationalisation (partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, joint-ventures, international projects…), Terres Neuves offers services for international teams. - Team-building in international teams: these seminars enable multicultural teams to better communicate in the latin sense of the word, that is “build together” a new culture enriched by their differences. - Intercultural remote teams: distance work almost always involves an intercultural dimension. The Terres Neuves seminars help team members and team managers to decode this special environment, spot the critical aspects and leverage points. -
Intercultural coaching: Individual and personalised assistance can be provided by intercultural coaching. Our team of intercultural coaches advise managers working in international situations. Through their questions and techniques, they contribute to the development of the intercultural competencies and high-level performance required of an international manager. For people of different cultures to cooperate effectively, each person must be aware of how culture shapes behaviour, particularly one’s own. Our native culture can be compared to a fortress with openings that can vary in size. Understanding one’s inevitable ethnocentricity, going beyond stereotypes, seeing one’s foreign counterpart as an individual are the conditions for optimal communication in an international situation. Terres Neuves seminars are an opportunity to acquire knowledge, to take distance and also to put knowledge into action, and thereby develop effectiveness in intercultural situations.
Terres Neuves can help you to select or validate your choice of an expatriate, with two tools of different scope : Jury of experts and BMI. - Jury of experts: Terres Neuves brings a rapid and original answer by way of an interview with a panel of specialists in human resources and international mobility. The aim is to check the fit between the person chosen for the expatriation and the conditions required to succeed. -
BMI (Bilan Managers Internationaux) Designed to identify and develop a pool of international managers, this assessment is a thorough diagnosis of the ability of a manager to carry out an assignment in a different cultural environment. Based on the assessment center model, it can help validate a selection, check motivation, identify areas for skills improvement and organise any accompaniment the expatriate might need (in partnership with Théry International Management, an international human resources development consultancy). To support an expatriation project or an international business situation, Terres Neuves can set up a customised training programme on the language of the host country, with the pedagogical design best suited to the needs, the deadlines and the context of the business person. The Terres Neuves language trainers teach their mother tongue. They have a university degree, but more important they are perfectly familiar with the business world, and can therefore manage professional conversations with their trainees. | ||
